NOVA EC — online lessons platform

This Privacy Policy explains what information the NOVA EC app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the NOVA EC mobile and web apps for students and teachers.

Information We Collect

We collect the information you submit or generate while using the app, including account details such as name, email address, phone number, preferred language, role, profile photo, country, school level, biography, favorite subject, teacher subject details, booking history, lesson status, ratings, chat messages, transaction records, availability slots, and technical identifiers such as Firebase authentication IDs and messaging tokens.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data to create and manage accounts, display public teacher and student profile information inside the app, match students with teachers, manage bookings and rescheduling, process internal token-based lesson payments and refunds, support lesson reminders and profile-visit notifications, enable chat and meeting access, detect misuse, and keep records required to operate and secure the platform.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Information is shared inside the app only as needed to deliver the service, for example between a student and a teacher during profile viewing, booking, payments, chat, ratings, notifications, and lesson coordination. We also rely on service providers such as Firebase for authentication, cloud database storage, file storage, messaging, and server functions, and Jitsi for online lesson meeting access when applicable.

Messages and Notifications

We may send in-app, browser, or device notifications about account activity, bookings, payments, cancellations, rescheduling, ratings, chat messages, meeting reminders, and profile-interest events such as a student opening a teacher profile. Delivery also depends on your browser, device, and system notification settings.

Data Protection

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect account data, but no online service can guarantee complete security. You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and for using the platform on devices and networks you trust.

Retention and Deletion

We keep account, booking, transaction, and related operational records for as long as reasonably necessary to run the service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, and maintain accurate lesson and rating history. Some information may remain in backups or archived records for a limited time even after an account or item is deleted.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may have the right to access, correct, update, or request deletion of your personal data, withdraw consent for certain processing, or object to some uses of your information. You can also manage some permissions through your device, browser, or in-app settings. Requests that affect bookings, payments, or legal records may be limited where retention is required.

Account & Data Deletion Requests

You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing info@nova-qa.net from the email address on your account, or by using the in-app account deletion option where available. We will delete or anonymize your personal data except where we are required to retain certain records (for example transaction or legal records) as described in “Retention and Deletion.”
